From Shelter to Soirée: Countdown to the Gala
Join us on Saturday, October 10th from 7 PM–10 PM at the Covington Country Club for a night unlike any other at the Unleashed Rescue Me Gala, Northshore Humane Society’s signature annual event and one of the most anticipated evenings of the year.
This year’s gala carries an even greater purpose. Proceeds from the 2026 Unleashed Gala will directly support the construction of our new state-of-the-art facility, helping us build the safe, modern home our homeless animals deserve.
Guests will enjoy an elevated evening featuring exquisite cuisine from a record number of local restaurants, handcrafted cocktails, exciting silent auctions, live entertainment, and a brand-new Spin & Sip wine game, all while making a life-saving impact for animals in need.
For over 70 years, Northshore Humane Society has been a place of hope for homeless and neglected animals across our community. As our organization continues to grow, so does the urgent need for a facility that can safely and efficiently support the thousands of animals who depend on us each year.

Unleashed! Gala Proceeds Benefit a New Home for NHS!
This year’s gala carries an even greater purpose. Proceeds from the 2026 Unleashed Gala will directly support the construction of our new state-of-the-art facility.
Since 1953, Northshore Humane Society has been a place of hope for animals in need. But now, the building that has carried our mission for decades is in urgent disrepair.
The new 21,000-square-foot campus will be located at 20189 Harrison Ave. in Covington, LA on 12.5 acres of donated land.
This thoughtfully designed campus will include modern kennels, an indoor play area, and dedicated spaces for medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption. Outdoor will feature a community dog park, 12 acres of scenic walking trails, and a memorial garden to honor beloved pets. At the heart of it all will be a vibrant community center for camps, educational programs, events, and more.
