About ICBEP11

The 11th International Conference on Bartonella as an Emerging Pathogen (ICBEP11) is part of a longstanding series of meetings hosted approximately every two years by members of the global Bartonella research community. This year, we are pleased to host the conference in partnership with Louisiana One Health in Education under the theme "BITE: Bartonella Infections, Treatments, and Education.

Traditionally, this conference has covered all Bartonella research, from ecological studies that define environmental and host niches to investigations of disease mechanisms, diagnostics, treatment, and clinical case studies. For ICBEP11, we are excited to introduce a new dimension to the meeting by engaging patient advocates and public health educators alongside researchers and clinicians.

This expanded perspective strengthens the One Health approach that is essential for understanding Bartonella infections and their impact on human and animal health. While we remain firmly committed to fostering scientific exchange and advancing research, we also recognize the need to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and the patients and communities ultimately affected by bartonelloses. ICBEP11 aims to create opportunities for meaningful dialogue among researchers, healthcare professionals, educators, veterinary practitioners, advocates, and patients, helping to translate knowledge into improved awareness, prevention, and care.
