4.25 CEUs will be provided by the Gwynedd Mercy University Social Work Program as a pre-approved provider of PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Professional Counselors. Eligible topics include the Keynote Speaker, LGBTQ+, Older Adult, and Youth sessions.

2.25 Act 48 Credits will be provided by the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit through PDE. Eligible topics include the Keynote Speaker and Youth sessions.

CEUs and Act 48 Credits will only be administered for attended sessions.

Speaker Bios

Jordan Burnham is a public speaker who discusses the mental health issues and disorders that affect so many of us. He is a survivor of a suicide attempt during his senior year in high school and shares his powerful story of fighting depression and finding recovery. Jordan has received numerous accolades for his work in mental health advocacy and has been profiled by Sports Illustrated, PEOPLE Magazine and USA Today. His piece, “Unbreakable,” for ESPN’s E:60 was nominated for an Emmy, and Jordan was interviewed by Anderson Cooper for the 2018 CNN special, “Finding Hope: Battling America’s Suicide Crisis.” Jordan is currently Director of Speaker Development and Training at Minding Your Mind in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Stephanie Fratantaro, MS, NCC, LPC, CCTP is a full-time Professor of Practice of Psychology in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies at Gwynedd Mercy University where she has served in multiple roles in Academic Affairs and Student Services since 2000. Prof. Fratantaro holds a master's degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University, is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. As an educator and mental health professional, Prof. Fratantaro’s work is focused on community based and engaged learning, reflective and integrative learning practices, inter-personal and intra-personal violence prevention, group dynamics, and signature student experiences which focus on issues of social justice.

John Gunn, PhD earned his B.A. in Psychology from Stockton University, his M.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University–Camden, and his Ph.D. in Family Science and Human Development from Montclair State University. He served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center from 2019 to 2021 before joining Gwynedd Mercy University as an Assistant Professor of Psychology in 2021. At Gwynedd, Dr. Gunn teaches research-focused courses, including Research Methods, Experimental Psychology, and Statistics. His scholarship centers on suicidal thoughts and behaviors, with particular emphasis on risk and protective factors across the lifespan, theoretical frameworks of suicide, population-level trends, and suicide among LGBTQ+ populations. 

Jennifer Haeussler-Barnhart, MSW is the Administrator of the Office of Aging Services for Montgomery County Pennsylvania. She has over 30 years of experience in health and human services, primarily focused on providing inclusive and comprehensive services for older adults and people with disabilities. Jennifer has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Bryn Mawr College. 

Megan Heichel, MS, F-ABMDI is a Deputy Coroner and Outreach Coordinator with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and a board‑certified Medicolegal Death Investigator. She brings extensive firsthand experience investigating sudden and traumatic deaths while emphasizing compassion, trauma‑informed care, and support for survivors of loss. Megan collaborates closely with Montgomery County Mobile Crisis to connect individuals, families, and caregivers with timely mental health resources. She is an active member of the MCSPTF and Older Adult Suicide Prevention Subcommittee, focusing on risk factors affecting aging community members. Megan holds certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Verbal Crisis de‑escalation, and QPR gatekeeping. She is committed to prevention, education, and stigma‑reducing conversations that strengthen community response to suicide and behavioral health crises.

Bianca O'Connor McDermott, LPC has been working as an advocate for older adult suicide prevention for over 25 years. In her previous career in Arizona she developed and delivered home and community based programs in behavioral health, suicide prevention, information and assistance, education, and elder rights for older adults. Now a resident of Montgomery County, she works as a therapist in private practice with a focus on treatment for older adults, caregivers, and persons with chronic illnesses. She is a member of the Montgomery County Office of Aging Services Advisory Council, and co-chair of the MCSPTF Older Adult committee.

Tony Salvatore, MA directs suicide prevention for Montgomery County Emergency Service, serves on the MCSPTF Older Adult Suicide Prevention Subcommittee, and Co-chairs the Older Adult Suicide Prevention Work Group of the Pennsylvania Mental Health Planning Council.

Matthew Winterstein, PhD is the Director of the David Farber ASPIRE Center at Jefferson. He has received numerous federal and foundation grants to address suicide prevention and has worked closely with the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services on addressing youth suicide at the state level. Dr. Wintersteen has served on national and international task forces, was a consultant to the National Center for the Prevention of Youth Suicide, served on Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s Suicide Prevention Task Force, and is currently commissioned to Governor Josh Shapiro’s Behavioral Health Council Advisory Board.
