Camping Rules at Samuell Farm

Safety

Camping is a great away to enjoy the outdoors.  Make sure your trip is as safe as possible.

  • Keep watch on children!  You are responsible for the safety of your children.   Make sure you know where your kids are and what they are doing.
  • Be aware of the natural surroundings.  There may be plants with thorns or stickers and poison ivy.
  • You are a visitor in widlife's home.  Keep a safe distance from wild animals..  Although they may look cute, they are wild and can carry diseases.
  • Never feed the wildlife! Feeding wildlife can encourage bad behavior by animals and is against park regulations.
  • Class A motorhomes are prohibited.
  • Your vehicle and tent/trailer must fit within your alloted space.  Each campsite is allowed one vehicle with a steering wheel only.  
  • Upon arrival, you will be assigned to your campsite.  We do not allow campsite holds or specific selections.  Want to camp next to your friends?   Make sure you arrive together!
  • Public consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
  • Camping Check-in: Saturday, April 6th 12:00 pm; Check-out: Monday, April 8th 5:00 pm.  No entry during quiet hours of 10 pm to 7 am.
  • Maximum 6 persons per campsite.
  • Be prepared for weather.  The event grounds does not have a building for shelter during inclimate weather.

Etiquette

Courteous behavior makes camping more fun for everyone.

  • Be considerate of your fellow campers.  Keep noise levels down, especially at night.
  • Leave the area clean.  Pick up your trash and make sure to check the area for items you may have forgotten.
  • Keep food out of the reach of animals.  Put food items away after use.  Racoons and other animals will take advantage of your carelesness.
  • All vehicles and campers must be self contained.  There is no dumping allowed.
  • Camp in designated camping areas only.  Keep vehicles in designated spaces.  Driving on the event grounds is strictly prohibited.
  • Leave your campsite cleaner than you found it.

Pet Rules

  • Pets must be on a leash at all times and attended by a responsible adult.
  • All pet waste must be bagged and properly disposed of in an appropriate trash container.
  • Please be considerate of other campers and do not allow your pet to relieve themselves near other campsites.

Open Flames and Camp Stoves

  • No open flames or campfires are permitted while camping at Samuell Farm.  Foraging and cutting of firewood is also prohibited.
  • Camp stoves and burners are permitted and must always be attended by a responsible adult.  
  • Camp stoves should not be placed directly on the ground where grasses or other flammable materials are present.
  • Any cooking producing smoke or ash is strictly prohibitted.

Quiet Hours

  • Quiet hours will be observed starting at 10:00 pm and ending at 7:00 am.  During these hours, use of lighting should be kept to a minimum and the use of items like speakers for playing music is prohibitted.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE CAMPING RULES AND THE POSTED RULES OF THE DALLAS PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT MAY RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM THE EVENT GROUNDS, IN WHICH A REFUND WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
